Jackie Hardrick
Author, Publisher & Speaker

Born in Newark, NJ, Jackie attended Newark's public schools and graduated from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ with a BS degree in Business Administration.

She is the owner of Enlighten Publications and the author of realistic young adult novels. The first novel, Imani in Young Love & Deception, made EBONY magazine's (3/02) and the Black Caucus National Council of Teachers of English recommended reading lists.

The second, Imani in Never Say Goodbye, made the latter list, won the 2005-2006 Georgia Peach Honor Book Award for Teen Readers, and Best YA Fiction by Urban Spectrum newspaper Denver, Colorado.

Ms. Hardrick, featured in the New York Times (April 28, 2002/In Person), is dedicated to giving back by writing high interest novels for teens that are Enlightening, Inspiring & Empowering. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and wisdom with teens one-on-one or in a group setting as in her Keepin' It RealSM Programs.

The Keepin' It RealSM Programs are rap sessions and book discussions that provoke lively conversation regarding the hot topics addressed in the novels. These interactive Programs, as do the novels, stress the CONSEQUENCES of ACTIONS. Keepin' It RealSM is perfect for middle and high schools, youth groups, libraries, youth ministries, retreats and book clubs. Ms. Hardrick is hard at work conducting the Keepin' It RealSM Programs, promoting her novels while writing her next young adult novel.
